The Federal government has announced the full deregulation of the Petroleum industry in Nigeria. This means that oil marketers can now source the products anywhere they decide.
The NNPCL before now was the sole impoter of PMS into the country and the sole off taker from Dangote refinery.
However, with this development, oil marketers can now approach Dangote refinery for products and sell to it’s customers.
The Minister for Finance and the coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun said the NNPCL will begin to sell crude to local refineries in Naira.
The NNPCL had on Wednesday, increased the pump price of petrol fom N897 to N1030/liter.
