The Federal Government and organised Labour has reached an agreement on modalities to crash the price of essential commodities and transport fares across the country.
The two parties agreed in the modalities during the meeting at the office of the secretary to government of the federation SGF last night.
Sources at the meeting disclosed among other things that both parties agreed to meeting regularly.
On cushioning the effect of high transportation cost, it was agreed that more than 2000 CNG conversation kit will be made available and 45 CNG buses to be labour to complete the 90 busez promised by the federal government.
On the new minimum wage implementation, it was agreed that State governors will be invited and the need for all states to commence payment of the new wages this month will be emphasized as no one should be left behind.
Further reports coming from the meeting states that it was also agreed that the Nigeria Labour Is Congress should be made part of the National Economic Council , so that they will be part of policy formation and policies will no longer be thrown at labour which may cause unrest and constant jaw-jaw with the Federal Government.
The Federal government also is to speed up the completion of the refineries as to ramp up fuel and petroleum product production to crash prices.
The Federal Government delegation was led by the Minister of Labour Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of Finance Wale Edun and Nihu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser.
While Labour was represented by the NLC President Joe Ajaero, Deputy President Kabiru Ado among others.
