The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved Work From Home for Civil Servants in the State.
Yinka Oyebade, The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, announced this in a statement in Ado-Ekiti, the State Capital.
The decision was taken with the aim of cushioning the effect of the economic hardship experienced by the workers in the State.
“The new arrangement, which commences on Monday, September 9, 2024, excludes essential workers like teachers, core health workers in the hospitals, and security personnel among others.
Accordingly, each of the government agencies, is expected to come up with a schedule of sustainability, which will make the directive effective, not affecting the productivity of workers.
The Special adviser stated that “According to the governor’s directive, each Ministry, Department, and Agency is expected to produce a workable schedule for the staff to ensure that the new work-from-home arrangement does not jeopardize effective service delivery. “The arrangement will be in place for two months and is subject to periodic review in line with prevailing circumstances.
“Also, the arrangement does not affect other palliative measures put in place by the state government, including the monthly wage award for workers and pensioners, and the free bus service for workers and students.
Oyebanji, finally stated that “The Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration is committed to workers’ welfare and will continue to put in place necessary measures to enhance their productivity,” Oyebode noted.
