Professor Humphrey Nwosu, the former chairman of. National Electoral Commission ( Now knows as INEC) is dead. Reports has it that he died yesterday in Virginia United States of America.
Prof Nwosu is from Ajali Orumba in Anambra State.
He was appointed to Head the electoral commission by former military President, Ibrahim Babangida in 1989, and he introduced the legendary Option A4 and open ballot voting system that produced MKO Abiola as Winner, though the results were later annuled by the military junta of the day.
Prof Nwosu achieved legendary statuse, by refusing to manipulate the elections result before IBB annuled.
An official statement is expected from his family soon.
