The People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) has rejected the Edo State governorship election results as announced by INEC.
The Acting National Chairman of the party, Amb. Umar Damagun announced this at a press briefing in Abuja.
Damagun charged INEC to use the window provided through the electoral act to correct the anomaly by declaring the PDP governorship candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo winner in the just concluded polls.
He further stated that the PDP raised an alarm before the elections about plans by the APC to use compromised INEC staff and the AIG in charge of the zone to manipulate the outcome of the process.
The PDP will contest the outcome for the elections in court in order to claim what they believed was there victory.
Meanwhile, the APC candidate and the Governor elect, led a mammoth crowd of supporters to the Palace of the Oba of Benin to thank the Oba as well as pay homage to him.
